Storage for clothes, jewellery, makeup etc

I have the tiniest bedroom, filled with a mass of clothes, shoes, jewellery and photography props including a bird cage and model boat..
As numbers of these things have increased I have looked into storage ideas to organise my items so I can easily find everything and to make my room look more organised.

Jewellery
Necklaces, bracelets, earrings, sunglasses, watches, broaches, hairbands and clips.
At the top there's a roll you can easily store sunglasses and watches on, which detaches at the ends with poppers so you can easily slide on your watches.

The necklaces and bracelets hang on loops of velcro, which is nice and strong, keeping my heaviest of necklaces secure.

The flap covering the bracelet velcros works well to pin things on.

The bottom of it has mesh pockets, perfect to store bits and bobs in, and also to put your earrings through! I store hair ties, my collar tips in a mini canvas bag, hair donuts and my lace ombre crown.

Under the mesh pockets there's a flap which you can clip hair slides on to or add even more earrings.

I bought this from Swag Bag two years ago after my friend's parents got her one for her birthday. I thought it was a rather nifty idea! Has lots of different storage areas, is easy hang up via the hook or hooks provided so it can hang on a door. It also comes with a velvet draw string bag with the idea that you can roll this up and take it away with you.

I have this inside my wardrobe door. Put two screws in which the two eyelets at the top hang onto. I have no space to hang this on the back of my door as I have all my coats on there ^_^

Rings
Recently I have accumulated lots of pretty rings which have been heaped on my desk with no real organisation. I needed to present them nicely and to free up space on my desk so I bought this handy ring display tray on ebay from a UK seller for £4.98 here. It's smaller than most listed and the best price I could find for a wooden one.

Clothes
I ran out of space in my wardrobe so I made my own rail for more clothes! In QD found some hanging basket brackets for only a couple of pounds each, then added a pole I found in the shed, and voila! This is now actually also full, this is a lovely pretty picture when I first made it. And that's the model boat I mentioned at the beginning :D

Soon needing to do a clear out! I literally have no more space! Soon adding clothes either to my blog sale page or will make a new instagram account to list clothes on. Not sure which would be best?

Makeup
From Wilko I bought this black faux leather draw to keep all my makeup and cosmetic bits all together. It was only £23 and if you wanted one, you lucky people, it's only £18 now! It fits perfectly under my desk and keeps me much more organised!

Here's what I have in my top draw, makeup bits I used to use and might come back to. Middle draw has my makeup bag, Urban Decay Naked 2 palette, cotton wool and makeup remover. Bottom draw has all my spares of products that I use, as I tend to buy things in twos for when I run out. Also has my hair products and moisturisers.

I thought this was a great little cheap storage solution, they have it in other colours too and differing amount of draws. I don't have an ikea near me, so I've never bought anything from there. I'm also lazy and don't want to have to put something together!

Shoes
At my last house I stayed in during university, (*sigh* this was 2 years ago!) our rooms had a picture rail running around the top of the walls. This was great to hang our heels on! Unfortunately my room currently doesn't have this feature!

I hope this has been helpful to some of you! Have you got any other interesting storage suggestions?

  3. I love the ring display!! I am definitely purchasing one of those. I never know what to do with my heels... I have ended up keeping them in the original boxes and they are currently stacked in the corner of my room and on top of the wardrobe, they take up too much room :(

  13. I know I already commented on Instagram the other day but I've literally been saying how I hate all my rings being piled into a little bowl. I end up wearing the same ones and forgetting about the ones at the bottom! I've had to order the ring tray.. I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner!
